Lectio Divina (sacred reading) is reading the Bible, or texts of the Saints or Mystics, in a slow prayerful way, with our hearts and minds open to God.
In order to receive what a text has to offer the passage is read aloud slowly several times, and then in a silent ten minutes or so we ponder and pray, using the words of the text to which we are particularly drawn. Silence is needed for our hearts to be touched by God. Those who wish may then share their prayer with the group.
